Premier Cricket Centre,

Web site www.premiercricket.com.au  : Email : rickh@premiercricket.com.au :

Players nominated by clubs to attend, will be written to in early February, to advise them of the time they are required to attend.

There is also an Assessment document which is an outline of the format on how the trial will be conducted. It is recommended that clubs conduct intraclub trials to determine which players they wish to nominate, using this Assessment document as a basis.

As in previous years, there will be four different trial times, most likely 9.00am, 11.00am, 1.00pm and 3.00pm. Some further information re the trial and the process that will follow will be provided at the same time players are written to. The first half of the season, as you know, will conclude early December and will re commence on late January, early February. Therefore by giving clubs plenty of notice, they can prepare lists of players accordingly by the closing date (use Calendar of Events link).

As per Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association practice, any player selected in this seasonís U12 rep teams who are eligible to represent BNJCA in U12 rep teams in this season, are exempt from attending the preliminary trial in February. Such players will proceed to the final selection trials in October, also to be conducted at Albany Creek Cricket Club.

The bulk of the players that attend the trials will be those playing U11 in the previous season. In determining the players that clubs wish to nominate, we ask that the clubs have ensured the following, in submitting their nominations:

 You have considered both full and half season players.

 You have considered eligible players that are playing in a higher age group(s) (most likely U12).

 You have considered players that have joined for the second half of the season, commencing late January.

Clubs are asked to complete the Nomination form outlining each players batting and bowling credentials and particularly those they believe are worthy of trialling as Wicket Keepers. Players who are to trial as WKís are spread evenly throughout the four trial times. Therefore, we need to know so those players can be allocated accordingly and be given a fair opportunity to show their WK skills.

For the trial to be conducted, it is essential that we have selectors available to conduct the assessment. To run successfully, 10 selectors are required. Those who wish to be a selector on the day, can advise the Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association Secretary accordingly.
